Why Loyal Partnerships Trump Convenience

Have you ever been in a position where you compromised for convenience? We all have--When we decide to pay too much just to pick up milk at the convenient store near our house or when we give in to the tantrums our children throw just so they will stop screaming. Businesses do the same thing, but why? We are charged higher prices to get supplies and parts by large corporations and we continue to do it because of pushy salesmen that we just want to stop bugging us.

In today's society, we are taught to GO, GO, and GO some more. There is a glorification of the word busy. So when a company needs a vendor or supplier, they tend to do business with whoever creates the least amount of friction and can provide RIGHT NOW. What companies should keep in mind is that friction is not necessarily a bad thing and good planning is more strategic than getting product right now.

Yes, it may take a little more time and research, but the product will be a sure success beacuse it was made for your company. Your partner will then help you plan and schedule so that you continue to get the product when you need it. A partner will work hard to get the price you need.
